PNP readies Camp Crame for free showing of Pacquiao-Mosley bout

Even the Philippine National Police (PNP) has caught the "Pacman" fever as it will have a free showing of Emmanuel"Manny" Pacquiao's scheduled 12-round bout against "Sugar" Shane Mosley on Sunday. The PNP has prepared its multi-purpose hall at Camp Crame to show for free the Filipino boxing icon's defense of his World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight championship belt against American challenger Mosley. Radio dzBB's San Nielsen reported that since the showing will be free of charge, the PNP is advising those who will watch the fight to come early as seating in the venue is first-come, first-served. PNP chief Director General Raul Bacalzo said the free showing stemmed from the support of the Public Safety Mutual Benefit Fund. He added that this is the PNP's way of showing support for the incumbent Sarangani province representative as the bearer of the Philippine flag in Sunday's bout. Local government officials in Metro Manila had made similar arrangements for the free viewing of Sunday's bout. Filipinos have become avid followers of Pacquiao's fights, with police noting a virtual zero crime rate especially during the bout. – JVP, GMA News
