Pacquiao to dominate Marquez, says Holyfield

Juan Manuel Marquez's self-conviction keeps him going for his welterweight title fight against Manny Pacquiao on Sunday (Manila time). Otherwise, everything points to a runaway 'Pacman' win when they meet in the ring again for the third time. Former undisputed heavyweight and cruiserweight champion Evander Holyfield sees Pacquiao dominating Marquez this time in just about every aspect of their 12-round fight. The 49-year-old Holyfield said Marquez, the only boxer to nearly beat the Filipino twice, had to maintain that mindset for him to have a shot of scoring an upset win. "I like Marquez, but he needs to keep the faith," said the 1984 Olympic gold medalist, who was present during Friday's (Saturday in Manila) official weigh-in for the 12-round bout at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Younger, faster, stronger and fighting in his natural weight, everything just seems to favor the 32-year-old pride of the Philippines. "He (Pacquiao) just needs to be himself (for him to win)," Holyfield added. Marquez had to move up in weight and bulk up to make this third encounter possible. His first meeting with Pacquiao was a draw, while the second ended in a split decision in favor of the reigning pound-for-pound king from General Santos City. "It's a great fight. Everyone is looking forward to seeing how this will end," said Holyfield, the only fighter to defeat Mike Tyson twice. Only last week, Holyfield, considered as one of the greatest heavyweight champions of all-time, visited Pacquiao in his Palazzo apartment while the Filipino congressman from Sarangani rovince was taking a break from his training. "I've always been a Manny Pacquiao fan," Holyfield admitted. — JVP, GMA News
