Shooter in EDSA road rage sends surrender feelers - report

MANILA, Philippines - A motorist who shot dead a bus driver in a case of road rage along Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) earlier this week has sent surrender feelers to police, dzBB radio reported Wednesday. Radio dzBB's Mao dela Cruz reported that the suspect, initially identified as McCarthy Alcantara, contacted Quezon City police chief Sr. Supt. Magtanggol Gatdula. Gatdula said Alcantara admitted shooting bus driver Ramilo Vargas in a fit of rage and was willing to turn himself in to authorities. No other details on the conditions for Alcantara's "surrender" were immediately available. Police earlier traced a Toyota sedan recovered in Quezon City to Alcantara. Initial investigation showed Alcantara shot Vargas after Vargas' bus sideswiped him along EDSA. - GMANews.TV
