Fire in fireworks factory hurts 4 in Bulacan

SAN RAFAEL, Bulacan - At least four persons were hurt when a fire broke out Friday afternoon at a factory owned by the largest fireworks manufacturer in the country. Joven Ong, the president of Dragon Fireworks based at Brgy. Sampaloc here said that at least four of his workers suffered minor injuries. "Nagpapasalamat kami at walang namatay, pero may mga nasugatan dahil nadapa," Ong said. The injured workers were rushed to a nearby hospital. They were identified as Mae Presentacion and Donna Nocum. Others remained to be identified. He stressed that his workers were save from possible serious injuries by following the drill they have been taught in the past in case of fire or explosion inside the factory. Fire officials said that the fire started around 12:15 in the afternoon, but was put out by 1:10 p.m. - GMANews.TV
