Rizal capitol to be transferred to Antipolo

MANILA, Philippines - The provincial capitol of Rizal will soon be transferred from its present location in Pasig City to Antipolo City. Rizal Governor Casimiro Ynares III on Tuesday said a P270-million provincial capitol is currently being constructed in Antipolo City and is expected to be completed by December. The construction of the building was being shouldered by Ortigas & Co., owner of the current location of the capitol building. Ynares said the new provincial capitol will sit on five-hectare lot at the Ynares Center in the said city and will house 2,008 employees. The national offices, however, were not provided with space in the capitol. Ynares said that the provincial government will provide them with office situated at Hilltop in Taytay Rizal, located 500 meters away from the new capitol. Construction of national offices in the province will take place next year, Ynares said. He added that the funds to be used in the construction of national offices in the province will be taken from the financial assistance of Ortigas to the capitol when it vacates the area on December. - GMANews.TV
