MANILA, Philippines - National Bureau of Investigations (NBI) agents seized over 200 firearms in a raid at a condominium unit in Makati City Thursday morning, a radio report said.
In its report, radio dzXL quoted Edward Villarta of the NBI - National Capital Region as saying that most of the guns found in the condo unit were 9-mm pistols. Twenty high-powered rifles and five crates of various ammunition were also confiscated.
The condo unit in Legaspi Village, Makati city reportedly belongs to Benjo Ramos, a suspected member of a major gun syndicate operating in Asia.
Ramos is already being pursued by the Presidential Anti-Smuggling Group (PASG), the radio report said.
Earlier, NBI agents also seized at least 50 firearms from a gun store raid in Makati City after discovering that the guns lacked proper importation documents. - Johanna Camille Sisante, GMANews.TV
