NAIA 3 inspected again for Monday opening - report

MANILA, Philippines - Less than a week before it is to be opened for domestic flights, the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 underwent another inspection by a government task force Thursday. Radio dzBB's Denver Trinidad reported that task force head Michael Defensor led the inspectors, who found the air-conditioning system in working condition. Defensor, who was defeated in last year's senatorial elections, said he wants everything to be ready for President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo's arrival from the United States on Monday. President Arroyo, before leaving for the US last Saturday, had instructed the task force to make NAIA-3 ready for her arrival via NAIA-3 early June 30. She is due to arrive via Philippine Airlines flight PR-105. NAIA-3, whose opening had been delayed for several years due to various issues, will initially handle domestic flights until it is ready to handle international flights as well. - GMANews.TV
