Quiapo traffic tight ahead of Pacquiao's church visit

MANILA, Philippines - Traffic near the Quiapo Church in Manila was snarled early morning Friday as fans of boxing champ Emmanuel "Manny" Pacquiao crowded the area to get a glimpse of their idol. As of 8:30 a.m., dzBB radio's Sam Nielsen reported that traffic near the Quiapo Church had backed up all the way to the Central Market along Quezon Boulevard as Pacquiao's fans joined devotees of the Black Nazarene who are attending the first Friday Mass at Quiapo Church. Pacquiao was due to attend Mass at the Quiapo Church at 9 a.m., as is his custom every time he returns from a bout abroad. But some of Pacquiao's followers who crowded the area outside the church went there also to remind Pacquiao to keep his promise to help victims of typhoon "Frank." "Di bale huwag kami balatuhan basta tuparin niya ang pangako niya na tutulong sa nasalanta ng bagyo (We don't mind if he doesn't give us money, so long as he keeps his promise to help victims of the typhoon)," one of Pacquiao's fans told dzBB radio. - GMANews.TV
