American Idol's Chris Daughtry and band rock Eastwood City

MANILA, Philippines - American band Daughtry on Tuesday night rocked the country during their one-night performance at the Eastwood City in Libis, Quezon City, according to a report in QTV’s News on Q.

In the television report, Audrey Carampel said this is the first time the band, led by Grammy nominated singer and American Idol alumnus Chris Daughtry, staged a concert in the country.

The audience reportedly got wild as the band performed their hits.

Earlier in the evening, the rock band held an autograph signing session where 100 lucky fans got the chance to have their Daughtry CDs signed by the band members.

Daughtry was the fourth-place finalist during the fifth season of American Idol. He was eliminated from the competition on May 10, 2006.

In a press conference Monday, the band leader confessed that they were not aware of the strong following they have in the Philippines.

“It’s been a great ride. We’re certainly enjoying it now and we’ve all worked very hard to get where we are now,” he said during the media briefing. - GMANews.TV
