Report: Pangasinan mayor shot dead

MANILA, Philippines - An unidentified gunman shot dead Agno, Pangasinan town Mayor Arthur Cabantac Saturday night.

Bombo Radyo on Sunday reported that the mayor was gunned down while he was playing mahjong at the house of a friend.

Police said at least four shells from an M-16 rifle were found at the scene of the crime.

Investigators said they were looking into politics and a personal grudge as likely motives behind the incident, which occurred at 9:20 p.m. - GMANews.TV
