Village chief shot dead dead in Nueva Vizcaya

SOLANO, Philippines – Several hours after an Indian woman trader was fatally shot near the public market in Bayombong, the capital town of Nueva Vizcaya, on Wednesday, the village chief of Barangay Tucal of this town was gunned down by a still unidentified assailant.
Barangay Chairman Rodolfo Teaño had just left the wake of his nephew and was on his way home around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday when an unidentified assailant armed with a .45-caliber pistol fired at him in a dark portion of the road, police operatives said.
Five empty shells from a .45-caliber were found at the crime scene. The victim had four bullet wounds, added the police.
Teaño was taken to the Medical Mission Group Hospital, but doctors there were unable to revive him. - Abe Almirol, GMANews.TV
