Manila Muslims pray for peace, ceasefire in Mindanao

MANILA, Philippines - As police kept watch, Muslims in Metro Manila gathered at a mosque in Taguig City at noon Friday to pray for peace and the declaration of a ceasefire in Mindanao.

Radio dzBB's Denver Trinidad reported that the Bangsamoro Solidarity for Peace, which organized the prayer rally, expects 1,000 Muslims to join the event.

Some 50 police personnel from the Taguig City police were deployed to secure the mosque during the prayer rally. - GMANews.TV
