Singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid is at it again. After the success of his stint as a Pinoy Idol judge, televiewers will once again see him in another FremantleMedia show – Celebrity Duets (season two).
Ogie Alcasid was in a gregarious and chatty mood when iGMA visited the taping for the first episode of Celebrity Duets (season two).
It was obvious that he was thoroughly enjoying his return to the much talked about reality musical show which hit the nation by storm last year. When they paused for a break we took this opportunity to have short chat with the singer-songwriter.
Hosting Celebrity Duets again
Admittedly Ogie Alcasid is thankful and happy that he and Regine Velasquez are hosting the second season of Celebrity Duets.
"Season one of Celebrity Duets was a resounding success, because we had a great roster of competitors, and of course season two will be as exciting if not more exciting as the first season," says Ogie rather confidently.
In fact it was evident in the atmosphere of the studio that everybody was enjoying themselves.
He adds that he and the production are now more certain in what they are doing compared to their initial foray last year and now they can concentrate more on having fun in the show.
"The first one was a trial and now it's been proven, so there's less nerbyos on everybody's part as far as the production is also concerned."
He adds that he and the Songbird are quite enjoying their reunion with the show and that they make a conscious effort to make the show as entertaining as possible.
"Masaya kasi manood dito e, because it just has a different appeal. Even I whenever we're taping it's like we are not taping. We try to make it as light as possible in between takes, kami ni Regine we try to [make it fun] so that the audience will not get bored. But all in all I thought it was a great opening day, I thought we had fun."
And indeed it was evident by the applause and the positive reviews about the show's first episode that Celebrity Duets is another sure success. To quote Ogie: "The format of the show is a winner!"
