Boy hurt in grenade attack in Pikit

KIDAPAWAN CITY, Philippines– A 16-year old boy was wounded when a fragmentation grenade exploded inside their house in a remote village in Pikit, North Cotabato, around 9:30 p.m. Friday, police said Saturday.
Senior Insp. Elias Dandan, municipal police chief, identified the victim as Samrudin Akmad of Ginatilan village.
Akmad, according to Dandan, was sleeping inside their house when an unidentified man lobbed the grenade.
Akmad's parents and his siblings survived the attack, police said.
The victim was hit in his leg and other parts of the body. He was rushed to Cruzado Medical Hospital in Pikit.
