DPWH hit anew over unfinished work at Tullahan Bridge

MANILA, Philippines - Its hands tied over the matter, the Valenzuela City government rapped the Public Works Department anew Thursday over the unfinished work on the Tullahan Bridge. Radio dzBB's Denver Trinidad reported Thursday that Valenzuela City mayor Sherwin Gatchalian said the DPWH has yet to give a timetable for the completion of the work at the bridge. Work on the bridge had been ongoing since last year, but problems continued to crop up after the supposed repair job was "finished." The report said that as of 4 a.m. Thursday, traffic had already piled up at the bridge. Gatchalian voiced worry that if the work is not yet finished in the coming months, traffic will get worse at the bridge area as the Christmas shopping season peaks. He said the local government could not do much about the situation since the project is one of the national government and not the local government. - GMANews.TV
