Magnitude 3.9 quake hits General Santos City
(Updated 10:07 a.m.) MANILA, Philippines – A mild earthquake rocked General Santos City Thursday morning, state seismologists said Thursday morning. In an interview on dzBB radio, Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) science research specialist Romeo Tabanlar said the earthquake posted a magnitude of 3.9 and occurred at 7:45 a.m. Thursday. For his part, Phovolcs science researcher Melchor Lasala told GMANews.TV in a telephone interview that the earthquake was felt at Intensity II. A Phivolcs bulletin said the quake was tectonic, noting that no damages were recorded and no aftershocks are expected. - Sophia Dedace, GMANews.TV
