Probe Villar insertion for road project, Loren insists

MANILA, Philippines - Senator Loren Legarda on Monday supported calls for the Senate to commence an investigation into the alleged double allocation of a P200 million road project that was linked to Senate president Manuel Villar Jr. During the Kapihan sa Manila Hotel, Legarda said there is a need to answer questions over the double insertion, as she accused of Villar of having "vested interest" in pushing for the double allocation for the C-5 project. Legarda maintained that it was not the minority bloc in the Senate that directly linked Villar in the controversy, saying it was Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile, chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, who made the revelation. - Amita Legaspi, GMANews.TV
