Tornado hits South Cotabato town - report


MANILA, Philippines - Several families in Surallah town in South Cotabato province lost their homes while many areas lost electric power after a tornado hit the area, a radio report said Wednesday. Radio dzBB's Mao dela Cruz reported that the tornado hit Libertad village in South Cotabato, knocking down trees and cutting power lines. No casualties were initially reported but many parts of the town reported intermittent power outages due to the tornado. The town social welfare office is still assessing the damage. Surallah s a first-class town with a population of 66,208 people in 13,364 households. - GMANews.TV
