Pacquiao resumes training

DAVAO CITY, Philippines - After concluding a six-city press tour, Manny Pacquiao of the Philippines and Oscar De La Hoya of Mexico headed to their respective training camps to prepare for their coming encounter.

Pacquiao returned at the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood to resume training with famed American guru Freddie Roach. He pounded the mitts with Roach as soon as hit the Gym Wednesday.

De La Hoya, meanwhile, headed to Big Bear in Los Angeles for a high altitude training. Big Bear has been De La Hoya's favorite training camp in may of his previous fights.

The Pacquiao-De La Hoya showdown at 147 pounds will be on December 6 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Filipino boxer, the current World Boxing Council (WBC) lightweight champion, is moving up in weight to fight De La Hoya.

With his height and size advantage, De La Hoya is naturally listed the favorite heading to the blockbuster ring showdown. - Sun.Star Davao
