Golf: Murakami, Pagunsan make cut in Barclays Singapore Open
MANILA, Philippines – The Philippines’ Artemio Murakami and Juvic Pagunsan made the cut and will move on to the third round of the Barclays Singapore Open, which took off a little past 3:30 pm Saturday at the Sentosa Golf Club. Both Murakami and Pagunsan, though, trail joint leaders Ernie Els of South Africa and Scotland’s Simon Dyson in the cash-rich tournament that has a total prize money of $5 million. As of posting time, the 25-year-old Murakami was at two-over after six holes while the 31-year-old Pagunsan dropped two consecutive bogeys after his initial holes. Els and Dyson were tied for the top spot in their own flight. Murakami, who was toughened mentality by his debut at the US Open, dropped to 58th place at five-over-par overall. Pagunsan was second to the last with a six-over-par total in the Asian Tour tournament. While Murakami and Pagunsan were lucky to get through, Frankie Minoza, Philippine Open Angelo Que, Antonio Lascuna, and amateur Ferdie Aunzo all blasted out of the event after missing the cut. – GMANews.TV
