Families lose homes in predawn fire in Cainta - report

MANILA, Philippines - Several families in Cainta town in Rizal province face a homeless Christmas after a fire of undetermined origin razed their houses before dawn Monday.
Radio dzBB's Louie Garcia reported that the fire started at the Fernandez Compound at A. Mabini Street in Sto. Niño village shortly after midnight and reached the fourth alarm.
Firefighters said the fire spread quickly to houses made of light materials. They said they are still investigating the cause of the fire.
No one was reported injured in the fire, the second in 24 hours since a fire rendered 250 families homeless in Las Piñas City Sunday. - GMANews.TV
