GenSan folk crowd airport for Pacquiao arrival - report
MANILA, Philippines - Relatives and supporters crowded the airport at General Santos City early Friday to wait for the homecoming of their favorite son, Filipino boxing champ Emmanuel "Manny" Pacquiao. A report on dzBB radio said the welcome, which included a band and a 22-foot float for a motorcade-parade, was the result of several days of preparation for Pacquiao's homecoming. Pacquiao, who had a motorcade and concert in his honor in Metro Manila Thursday, was due to arrive at the General Santos City airport at 8:45 a.m. Once in General Santos City, he was to tour 11 villages in a victory parade. Pacquiao, who arrived in the country Wednesday after conquering Oscar De La Hoya in Las Vegas, also plans to spend his 30th birthday on December 17 in General Santos City. - GMANews.TV
