Malaysian bet wins rich Pacquiao dartfest


MANILA, Philippines - Tengku Hadzali made sure his trip to the Philippines was worth it after the Malaysian won the Manny Pacquiao P2-Million International Darts Classic recently in General Santos City. Hadzali capped his stirring run in the four-day tournament with a 2-1 win over Mark Palad of Cagayan de Oro in the finals to win P320,000, easily the most lucrative purse in local darts. "It was an up-and-down match, but in the third set, I felt it was time for me to come back," Hadzali said. In the women's division, former many-time champion Jan-Jan Hinojales of Davao City defeated Jervice Curato 5-1 to take hom P40,000. Other winners in the event were Long Longyopan and Bebot Mangle in the mixed doubles; Ronnie Mar Gellaga (youth); Gale Santos and Jepoy Adumduman (classified draw doubles); Ybanez, Noel Maturan and Ramil Diaz (triples); and Ybanez, Palad, Jun Espinola, and Alan Medroso (four-man team). - GMANews.TV
