Fire hits MPD-SWAT firing range

MANILA, Philippines - Fire of still undetermined origin hit the firing range of the Manila Police District's Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit early Friday morning.
Radio dzBB's Carlo Mateo reported that police rushed to close off the MPD headquarters to prevent possible explosions that may affect traffic in nearby streets.
Firefighters rushed to the scene to contain the fire before it spread to other parts of MPD headquarters. The firing range is near the Explosives and Ordnance Division office.
Inmates were heard shouting for help as their cell was in the building's second floor, the report said.
However, firefighters managed to put out the fire at the SWAT firing range was near the MPD Explosives and Ordnance Division.
