Presidential escort dies of heart attack in La Union


MANILA, Philippines - A member of the Presidential Security Group (PSG) died of a heart attack while escorting President Arroyo in La Union province, a radio report said late Tuesday. Bombo Radyo reported that PSG member Alejandro Argonido, 43, died while undergoing treatment at the Bethany Hospital in San Fernando City. The report said Argonido was part of the PSG convoy that accompanied Arroyo to La Union to mark the 112th death anniversary of national hero Dr. Jose Rizal. Dr. Florida Mendoza of the Bethany Hospital confirmed Argonido's death at 4:35 p.m. Initial reports showed Argonido suffered from dizziness and chest pains at the Thunderbird Resort, where a media reception was being held. Mendoza said the presidential guard's remains were brought back to Manila for autopsy. - GMANews.TV
