Sultan Kudarat town vice mayor shot dead

SULTAN KUDARAT, Philippines - Unidentified suspects on Monday evening shot dead the vice mayor of President Quirino town in this southern Philippine province. Police Superintendent Benhur Mongao of the Sultan Kudarat police said Vice Mayor Froilan Rufino was killed at about 6:15 p.m. in front of his house in Katiko village. The suspects, who were reportedly onboard a motorcycle, used a pistol in the shooting, Mongao said citing accounts from witnesses. Follow-up investigation is on going. - GMANews.TV
