UAAP baseball: Champion Adamson routs La Salle

MANILA, Philippines – Adamson defeated De La Salle 18-10 to start defense of its baseball championship on opening day of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines Sunday at the Rizal Ballpark. La Salle drew first blood and went up 3-0 to begin the game. Then the Green Archers committed five errors and Adamson raced to six straight runs to go up 6-3 and stay ahead for good. Adamson totaled 12 hits and took advantage of De La Salle’s 14 errors. In the second game, University of the Philippines beat National University 7-6. Vladimyr and Ericson Eguia scored two RBIs in the fifth inning to pad UP’s lead to 7-4, as the brothers manned the mound in the last six innings where they yielded only three hits and struck out six. Meanwhile, the third game was suspended due to darkness. Ateneo was up 3-2 against University of Santo Tomas at the bottom of the fourth. The next play date is on Thursday with the following schedule: Adamson vs. Ateneo, UST vs. UP, and La Salle vs. NU. – GMANews.TV
