Pauleen Luna still under observation for dengue

MANILA, Philippines - Kapuso young star Pauleen Luna is still under observation at the Philippine Heart Center because of the deadly dengue, a television report said Wednesday. Chika Minute portion of GMA news 24 Oras, reported that Pauleen has had a blood transfusion but the young actress still has fever. The report added that the Pauleen’s platelet count has increased but doctors still continue to monitor her condition, based on the information provided by her relatives. Pia Guanio, host of Chika Minute said Pauleen’s relatives are thankful to those who volunteered to donate their blood for the young actress. Pauleen, a mainstay of noontime show “Eat Bulaga," has been confined at the hospital since Friday last week. Pauleen is the ex-girlfriend of Mayor Sherwin Gatchalian of Valenzuela City, which was included in the list of the Department of Health that recorded an upsurge of dengue cases last year. Last November, the DOH reported that dengue cases more than doubled in Metro Manila and Central Luzon, but decreased in other regions during the past ten months. - Fidel Jimenez, GMANews.TV
