LTFRB says auto-LPG supply will normalize next week

MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Thursday allayed fears of some 18,000 taxi operators amid talk of shortage in auto-liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) supply. In his report aired over QTV 11's Balitanghali, Alex Tinsay quoted LTFRB chair Thompson Lantion as saying that the country has sufficient supply of auto-LPG. He added that what the country is experiencing is a delay in auto-LPG imports which will come from Malaysia and not scarcity. Lantion's reaction came after receiving complaints from taxi operators that they might slow down their operations following an alleged shortage in the auto-LPG supply. Auto-LPG is a cleaner and cheaper fuel compared to gasoline or diesel. Its price ranges from P17 to P18 per liter compared to the P30 per liter of gasoline. Lantion said there is no reason for motorists to fear since next week, the auto-LPG supply in the country would finally normalize. - Aie Balagtas See, GMANews.TV
