Report: 2 die of cold in Cagayan

MANILA, Philippines –Cold weather has claimed the lives of at least two residents in the northeastern region of Cagayan Valley, a report over radio dzRH said late Thursday. William dela Cruz, 78, a resident of Barangay Santo Tomas in Saguday town in Quirino province, died at a hospital in nearby Isabela province Wednesday night. Doctors at the Southern Isabela General Hospital declared De la Cruz dead on arrival, having suffered an extreme asthma attack due to the cold, the report said. His widow, Anastasia, said he would suffer an asthma attack when the weather was very cold. In the city of Ilagan also in Isabela province, Leandro Balabares of Barangay Calamagui died due to the cold, the report said. - GMANews.TV
