NBI doubles watch vs LPG hoarders' warehouses
MANILA, Philippines - Buoyed up by a raid that netted some 2,100 liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tanks in Manila last weekend, the National Bureau of Investigation has doubled its efforts against cooking gas hoarders. Radio dwIZ reported that NBI director Nestor Mantaring ordered his agents to double their watch against hoarders and verify leads on the whereabouts of their warehouses. Mantaring said that with the expanded operations against LPG hoarders after last weekend's raid, the days of LPG cheats are "numbered." In that raid, the NBI and a presidential task force on security of energy facilities searched the warehouse of William Chua in Manila's Sta. Cruz district and seized 2,100 11-kg LPG tanks. Malacañang, for its part, warned hoarders of the full force of the law. - GMANews.TV
