NDCC: Cavite-blast damage pegged at P10.493M


MANILA, Philippines - The blast that destroyed a firecracker factory in Trece Martires City in Cavite province last week has been pegged at P10.493 million, the National Disaster Coordinating Council said Monday. In a progress report dated Jan. 31 but posted on its website Monday, the NDCC said this included damages to neighboring villages around the Starmaker factory. NDCC figures said the damage included P100,000 for Conchu village; P591,500 for Hugo Perez village; P861,500 for Osorio; P520,000 for Gregorio; P1 million for the Poblacion; P825,000 for city government buildings; and P2.595 million for provincial government buildings. The NDCC also identified the initial six fatalities as Diomedes Inano, Ciodello Iso, Christian Panganiban, Marlou Rodrin, Gerardo Amparo, and Angelo Francisco. It listed as "missing" Onor Lugami, Belen Rodriguez, Susan Decilio, and Erickson Layno. A dzBB report on Monday said police now consider the four missing as dead, while one of the injured, Arnold Pampillona, succumbed to his injuries last weekend. - GMANews.TV
