Boy stumbles into 12th fetus thrown in Manila in '09

MANILA, Philippines - An 11-year old boy stumbled into a fetus inside a church compound Tuesday morning while scavenging for food in Manila, bringing to 12 the number of fetuses thrown around the city this year. Joel Aguilar found the fetus placed inside a cardboard box beside the Sta. Cruz Church in Manila's Quiapo district at 2 a.m., authorities said. The boy told the police that he thought the box contained food, but was surprised to see that it contained a fetus law enforcers believed to be six to seven months old. Manila Police District - Plaza Miranda Police Community Precinct (PCP) deputy commander Inspector Ricardo Magtajas said the boy was looking for discarded leftovers. Police said the fetus was wrapped in white cloth put inside an orange plastic bag that was placed inside the cardboard box. Magtajas said they are looking for a witness who could have seen the person responsible for dumping the fetus in the church compound. - GMANews.TV
