Fans start flocking to Francis Magalona’s wake


MANILA, Philippines - Fans started on Saturday to flock to the wake of Master Rapper Francis Magalona at the Christ the King Memorial Chapel in Green Meadows, Quezon City. According to a GMA "Flash Report," fans of the Filipino rap icon are taking advantage of the public viewing scheduled for them from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Magalona, 44, succumbed to multiple organ failure Friday noon. His body was taken from The Medical City on Friday afternoon and transferred to the Funeraria Paz at around 5 p.m. "Nalulungkot kami sa pagkawala niya, talagang fans niya kami [We’re really sad that he’s gone, we really are his fans]," one fan said in an interview. "Kahapon na-shock ako kasi sabi namatay daw siya. Parang hindi ako makapaniwala kasi ang bata-bata pa niya [Yesterday I was shocked to learn that he died. I couldn’t believe it because he was so still so young]," another fan said. Other fans just chose to remember his contributions to Philippine society. "Ang desire niya makatulong. Nakita ko siya dati kumakanta sa EDSA Revolution anniversaries. Talagang ano ba sa tao, talagang you will be moved [His desire is to help, I always see him singing during EDSA Revolution anniversaries. You really will be moved]," anothe fan said. Brothers Enrico and Jordan Cruz just chose to pay tribute to their idol through a rap song.
