E-heads pay tribute to Francis M. at last concert

MANILA, Philippines – Fans of Filipino rock band Eraserheads came in droves Saturday evening to witness “The Final Set,” the group’s highly-touted reunion concert. GMA Weekend Report said an estimated 100,000 people flocked to the SM Mall of Asia’s concert grounds in Pasay City as band members Ely Buendia, Raimund Marasigan, Marcus Adoro, and Buddy Zabala returned on stage together for the very last time. The Eraserheads – dubbed as “the Beatles of the Philippines” – also held their concert as tribute to Master Rapper Francis Magalona, who passed away Friday last week due to leukemia. Magalona was supposed to be a guest performer at the event. The television report added the concert went smoothly and left fans satisfied. In August last year, the band had to cut short its reunion concert in Fort Bonifacio in Taguig City after Buendia suffered a heart attack just after the event’s first set. The Eraserheads agreed for a follow-up to the botched concert after Buendia was given a clean bill of health by his doctors. - GMANews.TV
