Solon says foiled Zambo bombings targeted him

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – Anak Mindanao party-list Rep. Mujiv Hataman on Tuesday claimed he was the target of the three improvised bombs that were recovered and detonated last Monday in two places in this southern port city. Hataman said he received information that some individuals were planning to liquidate him even before the improvised bombs were recovered. He also said some people have been spotted acting suspiciously near his residence at Buenbrazo Drive in the village of Tumaga, 4.3 kilometers north of this city. Hataman noted that the first bomb was recovered near his residence while the other two were recovered near the Muslim Youth Center that was constructed through his Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF). The Explosive Ordnance Demolition (EOD) personnel disclosed that the improvised bombs were all command-detonated. The EOD noted that the first bomb was placed in a garbage dump along the side of the road which serves as the only entry-exit access of Buenbrazo Drive. Hataman refused to identify the people behind the assassination attempts, although he said he saw no reason why some groups would want to kill him. - GMANews.TV
