Lacson sees Palace hand in Berroya testimony

MANILA, Philippines - Opposition Senator Panfilo Lacson sees Malacañang’s hand in the looming testimony of former Land Transportation Office head Reynaldo Berroya on the Dacer-Corbito slay case. “Malacanang has started to send in the clowns once again,” Lacson said in a text message to reporters Thursday, adding that he would not be surprised if other personalities who have been pinning him on case would also surface. “I won't be surprised if the rest of the characters like Ador Mawanay, et al will be resurrected again to make my life exciting once more,” Lacson said. Berroya, a former police general, had linked Lacson to abduction and killing of PR man Salvador “Bubby” Dacer and his driver Emmanuel Corbito in 2000. Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez on Thursday said Berroya had volunteered to testify on the case. The former police official is expected to appear on Monday. “I received a call from General Berroya. He’s offering to testify,” Gonzalez said. - Amita Legaspi, GMANews.TV
