Report: 7 hurt as grenade blast hits QC tire store


(Updated 10:48 p.m.) MANILA, Philippines - Seven people were injured, two of them seriously, in a grenade blast that hit a commercial establishment in Quezon City Thursday night. Radio dzBB's Bernie Morales reported that police were still trying to interview witnesses to determine the motive behind the blast, which occurred at NH Miller Bridgestone Dealer on West Avenue near EDSA. A "News on Q" report identified the two victims in critical condition as Leo Cordova, the security guard, and one Tony Macapagal. Others hurt in the incident were Angeles Mallari, Rico Gamboa, Aldrin Quiroz, Delfin Martin and Joel Ramos. All the victims were rushed to the Capitol Medical Center for treatment. Investigators cordoned off the area where the explosion occurred. The explosion also damaged three vehicles in the area, including a green Honda Civic Sedan (WCG-855) and a white Isuzu vehicle (CND-370), and a taxi (TWW-206). - GMANews.TV
