Contact center firm opens 11th RP facility, meeting expansion goals

MANILA, Philippines - Cincinnati, Ohio-headquartered Convergys Corp. will open its 11th local contact center facility in the UP-Ayala Land Techno Hub in Quezon City, indicating that its Philippine expansion remains on schedule.

The new facility will house up to 1,000 people, bringing Convergys’ total employment in the Philippines to approximately 16,000, the company said in a statement.

With over 57,000 square feet of space, the new structure “will provide both general support and advanced technical help desk services to a variety of Convergys clients via traditional voice calling, e-mail, and Web chat as well as "back office" application and document processing," the company said.

The new structure demonstrates Convergys’ “continued growth in [its] customer management business," Marife Zamora, Convergys vice president and country manager, said in a statement.

The company’s expansion “is a testament to the quality of the work our dedicated contact center employees perform for our clients and their customers," she added.

Within five years, Convergys has established 11 contact centers in the Philippines – seven located in Metro Manila, three in Cebu City, and one in Bacolod City.

In May of 2008, Convergys announced the addition of five new integrated contact centers located throughout the country. The new sites include Cebu Asiatown i3, UP Ayala Land Techno Hub, Nuvali, San Lazaro, and Glorietta.

Convergys closely integrates all of its facilities into Convergys' Global Assurance Network. This gives Convergys control of its end-to-end operations and processes, and assures high redundancy and flexibility for its clients. - GMANews.TV
