American survives shooting in Dumaguete


MANILA, Philippines — An American was shot after trying to fight off three muggers in Dumaguete City in Negros Oriental last Wednesday, an online news site reported Friday. Visayan Daily Star (www.visayandailystar.com) reported the incident occurred at the Amigo Subdivision in Piapi village in Dumaguete. Shot in the leg was Paul Homer Wilson, of Oklahoma. He was mugged while walking in the subdivision at 5:30 a.m., the report said. Wilson said he was waiting for a taxi to bring him to the pier. He added that of the three muggers, only one had a real gun, while the others had replicas. Tricycle driver Warley Anfone brought Wilson to the Silliman Medical Center Foundation Inc. - GMANews.TV
