Shell, Chevron to hike diesel prices, too


MANILA, Philippines - Major oil firms Chevron Philippines (formerly Caltex) and Pilipinas Shell will increase the prices of their diesel by P.030 per liter Friday. In a text message, Chevron corporate communications manager Antonio Nebrida said the increase in the price of their Powerdiesel, which would take effect 12:01 Friday, was due to the increase in the price of diesel in Mean of Platts Singapore (MOPS). Shell's adjustment would also take effect 12:01 a.m., according to a report on GMA News' "Saksi." Earlier, independent oil firm Total Philippines announced that it would also increase its diesel price by P0.30 per liter.
