Report: SC accepts first deaf-mute employee


MANILA, Philippines – The Supreme Court has accepted its first employee whose speech and hearing are impaired, according to a statement issued by the high tribunal. The statement said Chief Justice Reynato Puno approved the application of Arthur Principe, a BS Business Administration major in Management graduate at the CAP College School for the Deaf in Pasay City. On March 12, Principe started working as part of Associate Justice Arturo Brion’s staff. He was given the position of a coterminus Utility Worker II, the statement added. Interviewed by GMA News, Principe said that he is "fine" and "enjoys [working] here" at the Supreme Court.- Sophia Dedace with Carlo Lorenzo, GMANews.TV
