Team Pacquiao satisfied with Pacman’s present conditioning

MANILA, Philippines – Manny Pacquiao’s camp is satisfied with the Pacman's conditioning as training camp enters its final three weeks before the ring idol battles Ricky Hatton on May 2. Interviewed by GMA’s 24 Oras, Pacquiao’s buddy and assistant trainer Buboy Fernandez said it’s now only a matter of maintaining such top form on fight night. “Yung katawan niya nasa 100 percent condition na so kailangan na lang i-maintain yung road work, yung galaw niya para pag dating ng laban peak na siya. Talagang 100 percent focused tayo," Fernandez said. Not letting up on his training, the pound for pound king even went to the gym and sparred for 10 rounds on Black Saturday (Sunday in Manila). After training, the 30-year-old fighter from General Santos spent time signing autographs, posing for pictures and mingling with his fans, including Hollywood stars Christian Bale of Batman fame and Mark Wahlberg. “He’s the best in the world pound for pound probably of all time," Wahlberg told 24 Oras. “He’s so fast, so powerful and most importantly, he such as nice, humble guy outside of the ring." Pacquiao also took time to play in a darts tournament he sponsored – the $30,000 Pacmania Open Steel Tip Dart Tournament at Wilshire Plaza Hotel. Then on Easter Sunday – his usual day off – the religious Pacquiao went to Christ the King Church in Hollywood to hear Easter Mass and give thanks. A four division titlist, Pacquiao has set his sights on Hatton's Ring Magazine and International Boxing Organization junior welterweight belt in their "Battle of East and West" bout. –GMANews.TV
