Pacquiao not aiming for KO victory vs Hatton

MANILA, Philippines – Manny Pacquiao said he won’t be aiming for a knockout win against Ricky Hatton in their May 2 (May 3 in Manila) fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. “I’m not looking for a knockout. I don't want any distractions in my mind," said Pacquiao in a report at British news website Mirror.co.uk. Instead, Pacquiao said hat he would exploit Hatton’s weaknesses. “(Hatton) has a lot of weaknesses." “I expect him to be coming forward and fight toe-to-toe, and I like that." Pacquiao’s plan won’t be acceptable to trainer and coach Freddie Roach, who wants a third-round knockout win for his prized Filipino fighter. Roach, in an earlier interview, said that he will be disappointed if Pacquiao won’t knockout Hatton in three rounds. Hatton’s trainer, however, downplayed Team Pacquiao’s chances and predicted the naturally bigger and stronger Hatton will earn a second-round stoppage victory over the Filipino boxing icon. This will be Pacquiao’s first match against a British boxer after testing the caliber of Mexican sluggers in his previous fights. Pacquiao’s last nine wins were against Mexican boxers. – GMANews.TV
