Pacquiao not aiming for KO victory vs Hatton
MANILA, Philippines â Manny Pacquiao said he wonât be aiming for a knockout win against Ricky Hatton in their May 2 (May 3 in Manila) fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. âIâm not looking for a knockout. I don't want any distractions in my mind," said Pacquiao in a report at British news website Mirror.co.uk. Instead, Pacquiao said hat he would exploit Hattonâs weaknesses. â(Hatton) has a lot of weaknesses." âI expect him to be coming forward and fight toe-to-toe, and I like that." Pacquiaoâs plan wonât be acceptable to trainer and coach Freddie Roach, who wants a third-round knockout win for his prized Filipino fighter. Roach, in an earlier interview, said that he will be disappointed if Pacquiao wonât knockout Hatton in three rounds. Hattonâs trainer, however, downplayed Team Pacquiaoâs chances and predicted the naturally bigger and stronger Hatton will earn a second-round stoppage victory over the Filipino boxing icon. This will be Pacquiaoâs first match against a British boxer after testing the caliber of Mexican sluggers in his previous fights. Pacquiaoâs last nine wins were against Mexican boxers. â GMANews.TV
