Bullet mark found in Failon bathroom during second search

MANILA, Philippines - Police investigators have finally established that the scene of the shooting incident that seriously wounded the wife of news anchor Ted Failon was inside the bathroom of the Failon residence in Tierra Pura Homes in Tandang Sora, Quezon City.

Senior Superintendent Elmo San Diego, director of the Quezon City Police District, told a radio station on Thursday that during their second search, experts from the Scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO) team of the Philippine National Police found bullet mark inside the bathroom.

The SOCO's finding has erased doubts that the shooting of Failon's wife, Trinidad Etong, happened in another place and that Etong was transferred to the bathroom after the incident, according to San Diego. The latest finding could also strengthen the belief that Trinidad tried to commit suicide.

"Yung first search, SOCO did not find bullet mark. Tapos nilinis pa ang bathroom, so nagkaroon ng duda na di doon ang pinangyarihan. Pero sinuwerte naman na...ang trajectory ng bullet ay sa CR talaga," said San Diego.
