Overconfident robber caught near crime scene

MANILA, Philippines — Three muggers who were apparently so confident they would not get caught eventually fell Wednesday morning as they fooled around the place where they robbed a woman in Malabon City. Police identified the arrested suspects as Eduardo Asis, 20 and Ricky Pajarito, 22, both of Potrero, Malabon, and Rey Anthony Gonzales, 20, of Marulas, Valenzuela City. According to victim Rexie Pangilinan, 31, single, of Tonsuya in Malabon City, she and the three men were aboard a jeep running along the stretch of McArthur Highway in Potrero, Malabon at 1 a.m. Wednesday when the knife-wielding suspects declared a holdup. The suspects took Pangilinan’s Nokia 6600 and P1,300. The victim sought the help of police, but a team of cops who responded returned to their station empty-handed. As Pangilinan was going home, she again saw the suspects near the crime scene and went back to the police, who eventually caught the three. - GMANews.TV
