UAAP runner-up FEU seizes V-League lead

MANILA, Philippines – Far Eastern University overcame Lyceum‘s gritty stand Thursday night to carve out a 25-22, 25-22, 25-27, 25-15 victory to seize the solo lead in the first conference of the Shakey’s V-League’s sixth season at the FilOil-Flying V Arena. The Lady Tams used a balanced offensive game with Cherry Vivas and Mayeth Carolino firing 17 hits apiece. Irish Morada scored 15 while Rachel Daquis and Shaira Gonzales added 14 and 12 points each. The UAAP runners-up had to toughen up on their net defense to neutralize Lyceum’s top hitters to complete the win, their second after a straight-set victory over University of the Philippines last Tuesday. – GMANews.TV
