Soto victorious in final Pacquiao-Hatton undercard

MANILA, Philippines – Humberto Soto retained his World Boxing Council (WBC) super-featherweight crown after a ninth round TKO victory over French-Canadian Benoit Gaudet in the last fight of nine undercard matches in the Manny Pacquiao-Ricky Hatton “Battle of East and West" Sunday (Saturday, US time) at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas. Soto finished off his opponent with a left-right combination that floored Gaudet and forcing referee Jay Nady to stop the fight at two minutes and 25 seconds in the ninth. Soto improved his record to 48-7-2 with 31 of his bouts ending by way of knockout while Gaudet dropped to 20-2-2. – GMANews.TV
