Lozada reunited with family at La Salle Greenhills

MANILA, Philippines — Senate witness Rodolfo Noel Lozada Jr. was reunited with his family at La Salle Greenhills in San Juan on Friday after he was discharged from Medical Center Manila (MCM). Sister Mary John Mananzan, head of the Association of Major Religious Superiors in the Philippines (AMRSP), said Lozada left the hospital, where he was confined after complaining of difficulty in breathing, at around 11 a.m. But instead of returning to the Manila Police District Jail, where he was detained for 10 days after being arrested for perjury, Lozada was allowed to go to La Salle after a Manila court granted on Thursday the Senate’s motion to take him under its custody. On Thursday, Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile ordered the re-assigning of security personnel for Lozada. Enrile said Lozada can stay in La Salle or wherever he wants as long as he is accompanied by the security personnel assigned to him by the chamber. “Pwede rin naman na he will stay with De La Salle under the security of the Senate. It is the Senate that will answer for his appearance (in court)," Enrile told reporters Thursday. Mananzan said Lozada’s health condition has improved but his doctors advised him to have a complete bed rest to regain his strength. She said they are still waiting for the result of the laboratory tests conducted on Lozada. - GMANews.TV
