Reyes does it again for Ateneo five

MANILA, Philippines - Jai Reyes delivered in the clutch once more as Ateneo swept Seniors-A of the Nike Summer League by clipping Adamson, 59-56, at the Far Eastern University Gym. Hero of the Eagles' previous wins, Reyes converted on almost similar plays against the Falcons, getting picks at the top of the key to initially score the go-ahead three-pointer, 57-56, 1:02 to go. He then followed this up with an unmolested drive in the middle for the win, less than three ticks to go. Leo Canuday’s wayward three-pointer hit the glass and bounced off as time expired. The Eagles won all of their games in the eliminations and claimed a spot in the quarterfinals. They towed Adamson with them into the next round. Meanwhile, Jose Rizal bagged the first spot in Seniors-D as it defeated Letran, 74-67. John Wilson made 21 points, while Marvin Hayes scored eight of his 10 in the final period. The Bombers also made it to the round of eight. In juniors games, La Salle Greenhills rampaged FEU-FERN, 89-48, and San Beda-Alabang beat Grace Christian, 51-41. -GMANews.TV
